Pat Ferns has produced some of Canada’s finest award-winning programming and the world’s leading media events. Pat presents his signature pitching sessions worldwide. Called “the father of independent production”, he was awarded the Order of Canada. Pat is a Principal in the International Institute for Television Leadership, providing executive training and strategic consultation around the world. Pat is consultant to the Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival and Director, RomaTvPitching at RomaFictionFest. More about Pat Andrew Ferns has a diverse background of practical experience including Production Management and Line Production of MOWs and Feature Films. His documentary credits have been broadcast on Vision TV, PBS and Discovery Channel. His most recent productions are both Australia/Canada co-productions Captain Cook: Obsession and Discovery and Darwin’s Brave New World. A feature screenplay and tv drama series that Andrew co-wrote are currently in development. More about Andrew Thom Denomme is a self-made entrepreneur who has been working with the Aboriginal Peoples of Canada for close to twenty years. He joined Ferns Entertainment in September 2010, and his extensive background in First Nations communities adds and important dimension to the group. He is the founder of the Residential School Healing Society of Canada, CEO of Honour Walk, and a director of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce’s Adoriginal Opportunities Committee. More about Thom. Wendy Swinton has extensive international experience with a background in marketing and administration. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto (sociology/Spanish) and a Certificate in Dispute Resolution, also from the U of T. Wendy has lived in Nigeria, Belgium, Spain, England, Iran, and Mexico and has traveled to many other places. Wendy is the mother to two adult sons: one lives in Victoria, the other in Malmo, Sweden. |
